Apple May Begin Offering Subscription Bundles this Fall

Apple is preparing to launch a series of subscription bundles with its new iPhones this fall, according to Gizmodo. The bundles, called “Apple One,” will be made up of different tiers combining various services. The basic bundle will include Apple Music and Apple TV+. Next, customers can purchase Apple Arcade alongside the basic bundle, and a more expensive tier will include Apple News+. The last tier will add extra iCloud storage for files and photos.

It appears Apple wants to set up a loyalty program similar to Amazon Prime, which charges an annual or monthly fee, according to Bloomberg. Some Apple customers already pay for their digital subscriptions separately, so this will suggest different packages based on what they currently use. Experts are also speculating Apple may introduce its first suite of 5G iPhones soon which would, along with the subscription bundles, add up to a huge revenue stream for the company.

“We believe this could be a significant move for Apple and potentially increase the services revenue trajectory by up to 5 percent in 2021,” Wedbush tech analyst Dan Ives said, according to Yahoo Finance.

Apple is also developing a virtual fitness subscription for the iPhone, iPad, and Apple TV nicknamed “Seymour.” It is designed to rival Pelaton, Nike, and other companies that offer virtual classes, which are great fitness buffs who have had to transition to home workouts. All of the subscriptions will be compatible with Apple’s Family Sharing system and could save customers between $2 and $5 a month. The bundles could launch in October alongside the new iPhone lineup and iOS software.
