Viral TikTok Sends Fleetwood Mac’s Song, “Dreams,” to Biggest Streaming Week Ever

Fleetwood Mac’s “Dreams,” the 1977 Billboard No. 1 hit, garnered more than 8.4 million streams nationwide last week — its largest streaming week in history, thanks to a TikTok video that went viral, according to Billboard. The video featured Nathan Apodaca, @420doggface208 on TikTok, mouthing along to the song while drinking a bottle of Ocean Spray Cran-Raspberry juice as he appeared to be pulled on a skateboard after having car trouble. The clip moved Mick Fleetwood to recreate his own version of the video.

“Dreams” was first released in 1977 on the album Rumours and has now rebounded from 47 to 27 on the Billboard 200 albums chart, marking its first time in the top 40 in seven years. Apodaca is also enjoying some success of his own, according to USA Today. Ocean Spray executives were so impressed, they bought Apodaca a 2020 Nissan Titan PRO-4X and gave him a trunk full of Ocean Spray.

“When we saw Nathan Apodaca’s video and the joy it created, we knew we needed to celebrate him and the happiness he spurred,” said Tom Hayes, CEO of Ocean Spray, in a statement. “What a thrill to be part of a movement that is spreading so much positivity worldwide, especially during these unprecedented times.”

Apodaca also received more than $10,000 in donations. He said he plans to give his mother $5,000 and buy a new RV as well as upgrade his car. The viral video now has more than 25 million views just on TikTok.
