Apple Unveils iPhone 12 Lineup

Apple has introduced its new range of iPhone 12s, which include four devices with 5G, according to The Verge. The company made the announcement yesterday at another virtual event. The iPhone 12 offers a new design with flat edges similar to the iPhone 4 and iPhone 5, according to CNET. The standard 6.1-inch iPhone 12 has two rear cameras that will support night mode. The iPhone 12 screen also has a “Ceramic Shield” glass cover to make the screen more durable.

“The iPhone has never been more indispensable than it is now,” Apple CEO Tim Cook said. “Today is the beginning of a new era for iPhone.”

The iPhone 12 will be $829 and is available to preorder on Oct. 16 for official release on Oct. 23. for $829. Apple also revealed a smaller model, the iPhone 12 mini, which has a 5.4-inch screen and similar specs to the full-sized iPhone 12. It costs $729 and is available for preorder on Nov. 6 for release on Nov. 13.

The iPhone 12 Pro range includes three back cameras with 5x optical zoom. The 6.1-inch model will start at $999 and can be preorder on Oct. 16, and the Max, 6.7-inch version, starting at $1099, can be preordered on Nov. 6.

None of the new iPhone models will come with headphones or a wall charger, according to CNBC, in Apple’s continued efforts to go carbon neutral.

Apple also introduced the HomePod mini, a smaller and less expensive version of the HomePod smart speaker. It will be $99 and available on Nov. 16. For the full fall release schedule, visit Apple’s website.
