Biden and Trump Held Dueling Town Halls Last Night

Last night was meant to be night two of the Presidential Debates, until President Trump contracted Covid-19 and refused to participate in a virtual debate against Democratic nominee Joe Biden. Instead, the candidates held dueling town halls on different networks.

Biden, who is ahead in the polls, announced his town hall first, then Trump later signed on with a competing one, during which he sparred with NBC moderator Savannah Guthrie. She pointed out the fact Trump has not come up with a health plan as he continues to promise to repeal the Affordable Care Act and asked if he owes money to foreign banks.

Trump also did not answer questions about his tax returns and refused to denounce QAnon. Meanwhile, Biden took questions from voters during his ABC Town Hall and blasted Trump’s handling of the pandemic.

“He didn’t talk about what needed to be done because he kept worrying, in my view, about the stock market,” Biden said of Trump. “He worried if he talked about how bad this could be, unless we took these precautionary actions, then, in fact, the market would go down. And his barometer of success of the economy is the market.”

Biden also said when asked about the Supreme Court that while he is not a fan of “court packing,” according to NBC News, his final conclusion on the matter will depend on how the Senate handles the Supreme Court confirmation of Amy Coney Barrett.
