LeBron James Named Most Influential Celebrity in the Election

The election is still days away, but LeBron James has already won his own vote as the most influential celebrity in the presidential election as part of a new survey, according to The Hollywood Reporter. James has focused his attention on encouraging Black voters, in particular, to participate in this year’s election.

According to the survey, which was commissioned by consulting firm Whitman Insight Strategies and music sales data provider MRC Data, along with insights platform DISQO, James’s efforts have exceeded others when it comes to motivating voters, including the Gen Z crowd. James is also credited with being the one Black voters consider to be the most trustworthy, according to Billboard.

“We believe that Black people, our community, we’ve been pushed away from our civic duty,” James said. “We’ve been fed misinformation for many years. And I’m in a position where I can educate people and, through More Than a Vote, educate people on (how) important this movement is, and how important their civic duty is.”

The survey measured how entertainers, influencers and politicians rank among 1,103 likely voters nationwide from October 8 to 13. The voters were 48 percent male and 52 percent female. Democratic voters were said to be more heavily influenced by entertainers and sports stars than Republican voters at 17 percent to 9 percent.

Out of all voters, 36 percent said James has done the most to motivate people to vote. Taylor Swift came in second at 13 percent. Dwayne Johnson came in third at 9 percent and Oprah Winfrey was next with 6 percent.
