‘Supernatural’ Actors to Join Stacey Abrams for Voting Rights Fundraiser

‘Supernatural’ Actors to Join Stacey Abrams for Voting Rights Fundraiser

As the upcoming Senate runoff races in Georgia heat up, some actors from the cast of CW’s “Supernatural” are teaming up with former Georgia Democratic gubernatorial candidate and voting rights organizer Stacey Abrams for a virtual fundraiser tomorrow night, according to The Hill. Abrams is also credited with helping President-elect Joe Biden flip Georgia from a red state to a blue one.

Actors Jared Padalecki, Jensen Ackles, and Misha Collins, who portrayed the Winchester brothers who hunted demons and angel Castiel on the series that just wrapped up weeks ago, are scheduled to help Abrams fundraise. The creator of “Supernatural,” Eric Kripke, will also be on hand for the fundraiser, which will solicit donations to benefit Fair Fight, Abrams’ nonprofit that fights voter suppression, especially in Georgia and Texas.

Abrams has voiced her love of sci-fi and fantasy shows in the past, including “Doctor Who,” “Star Trek,” and “Buffy the Vampire Slayer” many times in the past. In her 2018 profile with Time Magazine it was noted that Supernatural was her favorite show:

“The next morning, Abrams skips church to sleep in and catch up on a favorite show, Supernatural. Its warrior angels and demons ‘create some very interesting theological questions,’ she muses, settling onto her cream-colored sofa to talk about the campaign.”

“Supernatural” ended last month after 15 years. It was the longest-running live-action fantasy series nationwide in history. Tuesday’s virtual fundraiser is scheduled to take place at 9 p.m. EST, according to News Break.
