Among Us Launches Today For Nintendo Switch

Among Us Launches Today For Nintendo Switch

Just in time for the Christmas holidays, developer Innersloth’s popular game, “Among Us,” is arriving on Nintendo Switch today, according to The Verge.

The news was announced as part of Nintendo’s Indie World Showcase event, according to Engadget. “Among Us” will also include crossplay.

The game won awards last week for best multiplayer game and best mobile game at The Game Awards, the annual awards ceremony highlighting achievements in video games. “Among Us,” which is two years old, has recently increased in popularity, thanks to Twitch.

It has been not only played on Twitch but also by streamers and even by the U.S. Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-New York. She issued a call in October for players to join her on “Among Us” in order to “get out the vote” before the presidential election.

The game has proven to be such a hit that Innersloth decided to forego its plans to create a sequel and, instead, opted to put all of its efforts behind refining the original game.  A new map called The Airship is scheduled to debut next year.
