BTS Meal to Debut at McDonald’s in May

BTS Meal to Debut at McDonald’s in May

McDonald’s is joining forces with another musical act to sell an upcoming themed meal, this time K-Pop band BTS, according to MarketWatch. The Grammy-nominated band’s meal is scheduled to go on sale in May.

Unlike previous partnerships, like with Travis Scott and J. Balvin, this will mark the first celebrity collaboration that will be available at McDonald’s locations worldwide.

The Travis Scott meal was so popular it was said to be responsible for a sales bump at McDonald’s last September and was so popular it had an accompanying merchandise line, which led to a viral TikTok trend where customers drove up to the McDonald’s drive-thru playing Scott’s hit song “Sicko Mode.”

The BTS meal will include 10-piece chicken McNuggets, Sweet Chili and Cajun dipping sauces inspired by the South Korean McDonald’s menu, a medium Coca-Cola, and medium French fries. The fries will mimic the group’s famous logo.

“The band has great memories with McDonald’s,” BTS’ label Big Hit Music said in a statement, according to The Baltimore Sun. “We’re excited about this collaboration and can’t wait to share the BTS Meal with the world.”

BTS consists of members Jin, J-Hope, Jimin, Jungkook, RM, V, and SUGA. BTS was the international best-selling artist of 2020, according to BBC News.

The meal will be on sale beginning on May 26 nationwide and in parts of the Caribbean and Canada. It will then be available in 50 countries around the world by June.
