The Weeknd was the Big Winner at Last Night’s Billboard Awards

The Billboard Awards took place last night, and The Weeknd was the biggest winner of the night, taking home awards in 10 categories, including top artist, top male artist, and top Hot 100 artist, according to CNN. His album, After Hours, was also named top R&B album, and his single “Blinding Lights” won for top radio song and top R&B song, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Last night’s live show in Los Angeles, which was hosted by Nick Jonas, was held before a crowd of around 500 to 600 people.  DJ Khaled with H.E.R. and Migos kicked off the 2021 Billboard Music Awards on an outdoor stage.

Bad Bunny was named Billboard’s top Latin artist during the live ceremony and he gave his acceptance speech entirely in Spanish. He also won for top Latin male artist, top Latin song, and top Latin album, setting a record as the first Latin artist to receive three awards in the same category.

Drake received the Artist of the Decade Award. The late Pop Smoke won the award for top Billboard 200 album for his posthumously released debut album, “Shoot for the Stars, Aim for the Moon,” as well as for top new artist and top rap album.

Pink was also given the special Icon Award, which was presented to her by Jon Bon Jovi.
