Microsoft’s Xbox Series X Mini Fridge Will Be Sold for the Holidays

Microsoft’s Xbox Series X Mini Fridge Will Be Sold for the Holidays

Microsoft’s E3 2021 showcase ended over the weekend with the news that the Xbox Series X-shaped mini fridge will be available for retail, according to Gizmodo. Executives at Microsoft said they would release the fridge after it beat Skittles on Twitter’s #BestOfTweets Brand Bracket poll, according to The Verge.

To try to encourage voters, Aaron Greenberg, general manager of Xbox Games Marketing at Microsoft, vowed that if they helped Xbox win, Microsoft would initiate the production of life-size Xbox Series X mini fridges this year.

“Yes, this is really happening,” Xbox said in a trailer promoting the new life-size fridge.

The trailer also shows the Xbox is green on the inside. The fridge is reportedly powered by “Xbox Velocity Cooling Architecture.”

The Xbox Mini Fridge is now being billed as “the world’s most powerful mini fridge.” The meme of a fridge meme hearkens from the unveiling of the Xbox Series X nearly two years ago. When in a vertical position, the console has a rectangular shape similar to a fridge, and the disk drive resembles a door handle.

Microsoft actually gave out a real Series X-shaped refrigerator last November. It also features the Xbox logo that lights up on the front.

It is said to be able to hold around 10 drink cans. The price has not yet been revealed.
