Kanye West Banned from Twitter Following Swastika Tweet

Twitter owner Elon Musk has banned Kanye West from the platform after the rapper posted an image of a swastika inside the Star of David on Thursday. West also shared screenshots of a personal text exchange with Musk, who wrote, “Sorry but you have gone too far. This is not love.” West responded, “Who made you the judge.”

“I tried my best. Despite that he again violated our rule against incitement to violence. Account will be suspended,” Musk tweeted late Thursday night.

West appeared on the Alex Jones Show earlier Thursday, joined by neo-Nazi commentator Nick Fuentes. During his appearance, West lauded Adolf Hitler and the Nazis, and disagreed with Jones, a noted conspiracy theorist, when he referred to Nazis as “evil.”

“I love Jewish people, but I also love Nazis,” West said.

West also made several false statements, claiming that Hitler invented microphones and highways.

“These comments mixed with his high profile and huge following have dangerous consequences,” UK Holocaust Educational Trust CEO Karen Pollock said.

Some of West’s former employees have recently come forward to share previous instances of the rapper’s anti-Semitism, which has led to the termination of several music partnerships and lucrative brand deals.

West is known to suffer from bipolar disorder; however there seems to be a consensus among medical professionals and the bipolar community that the rapper’s mental health issues neither account for nor excuse his violent bigotry, according to BBC News.

West’s most recent ban from Twitter occurred a few hours after the conservative social media platform Parler announced that he would no longer be allowed to purchase the site.
