The second and final Presidential Debate is scheduled for Thursday night, and some different rules will be in place this time around, according to CBS News<\/a>. Both Vice President Joe Biden and President Donald Trump will have their microphones muted during some segments of the debate on Thursday.<\/p>\n

The decision was made by the Commission on Presidential Debates on Monday afternoon, according to CNN<\/a>. It came about as a result of the chaos that ensued at the first Presidential debate when Trump frequently cut off Biden and spoke over him. However, the commission seems to expect that Trump will not be pleased with the new changes.<\/p>\n

“We realize, after discussions with both campaigns, that neither campaign may be totally satisfied with the measures announced today,” the Commission on Presidential Debates said in a statement. “One may think they go too far, and one may think they do not go far enough. We are comfortable that these actions strike the right balance and that they are in the interest of the American people, for whom these debates are held.”<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Thursday night would be the third presidential debate; however, the second one, which had been scheduled for October 15, was canceled after Trump tested positive for Covid-19 and refused to participate in a virtual debate. The upcoming debate is scheduled to take place at Belmont University in Nashville, Tennessee. All of the mandatory testing, face masks, social distancing, and other protocols for coronavirus will also be in place, according to the commission.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
