The story of the war between hedge funds and Reddit over GameStop stock may still be developing, but Netflix is already banking on making a movie about it, according to Deadline<\/a>. The script for the currently untitled film will be penned by the Oscar-winning screenwriter, Mark Boal, who wrote \u201cThe Hurt Locker\u201d and \u201cZero Dark Thirty.\u201d<\/p>\n

Actor Noah Centineo, who stars in the \u201cTo All the Boys I’ve Loved Before\u201d films, will play one of the leading roles, according to CNET<\/a>. Scott Galloway<\/a>, tech expert, journalist, and NYU professor, is in talks to serve as a consultant on the script.<\/p>\n

Brad Weston<\/a>, founder and CEO at Makeready, along with Definition Entertainment\u2019s Nick Styne<\/a> are producing the movie. Mark Sourian<\/a> will be the executive producer.<\/p>\n

Netflix also has competition. Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Inc. plans to develop a separate project on the same subject based on a manuscript by author Ben Mezrich titled \u201cThe Antisocial Network,\u201d according to The Wall Street Journal<\/a>. Mezrich also wrote The Accidental Billionaires<\/em>, which was adapted into the 2010 film “The Social Network. The production companies will most likely be in a rush to see who can get the project made first.<\/p>\n
