At the moment, Mammoth Mountain is less than half a foot away from breaking the 668-inch season snowfall record it set 13 years ago.<\/p>\n
Southern California’s Big Bear Mountain plans to extend its season as well. The area, which sits about 100 miles east of Los Angeles, and includes both Bear Mountain and Snow Summit resorts, received 210 inches of snow this winter \u2014 more than it has seen in the last two decades. As a result, Big Bear’s chair lifts will continue to run at least three weeks longer than usual.<\/p>\n
Among other slopes to have announced extended seasons are Vail-owned Northstar California, Heavenly Mountain, and Kirkwood Mountain.<\/p>\n
