Congress moved to end federal EV purchase credits on Sept. 30, 2025\u2014that\u2019s up to $7,500 off new and $4,000 off used\u2014so shoppers are racing the deadline. Automakers are also pushing last-minute promos, per <a href=\"https:\/\/www.reuters.com\/business\/autos-transportation\/automakers-push-ev-sales-7500-us-tax-credit-is-set-end-2025-07-09\/?utm_source=chatgpt.com\"><span class=\"s1\">Reuters<\/span><\/a>.<\/li>\n<li class=\"li1\">Prices are <a href=\"https:\/\/www.coxautoinc.com\/learning-center\/tag\/ev-market-monitor\/?utm_source=chatgpt.com\">more approachable<\/a>, especially used. New-EV transaction prices averaged $55,689 in July. For used EVs, the average <i>listing<\/i> price was $35,263 in June)\u2014and inventories are turning faster (about 40 days to sell in July).<\/li>\n<li class=\"li1\">Range anxiety is fading. Many new models now exceed 300 miles on a charge (vs. sub-200 for a lot of models just a few years ago), which nudges older EVs down the value ladder\u2014and into more budget-friendly territory. (See <a href=\"https:\/\/www.spglobal.com\/automotive-insights\/en\/blogs\/2025\/07\/ev-sales-stall-new-share-dynamics-grow?utm_source=chatgpt.com\"><span class=\"s1\">S&amp;P Global<\/span><\/a>\u2019s recent EV market analysis for how tech and pricing are reshaping adoption.)<\/li>\n<li class=\"li1\">More choices hitting the used lot. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.iseecars.com\/ev-market-study?utm_source=chatgpt.com\"><span class=\"s1\">iSeeCars<\/span><\/a> tracked a 61.8 percent jump in used-EV listings in early July versus a year earlier, reflecting lease returns and trade-ins finally flowing through.<\/li>\n<li class=\"li1\">Ownership math still matters. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.autoweek.com\/news\/a66331575\/aaa-new-vehicle-ownership-costs-drop\/?utm_source=chatgpt.com\">AAA\u2019s 2025 report<\/a> shows EVs can carry higher depreciation and insurance even as they save on fuel and maintenance\u2014one reason used prices can look especially attractive compared to new.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"p1\">A few reality checks to balance the hype: S&amp;P Global says overall EV market share has been choppy in 2025 despite record volumes, and some brands are cooling off while others surge, which means bargains exist, but model-by-model dynamics are noisy.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Used electric vehicles (EVs) are having a moment.
